Life Long White Tint To Water.....Any Advice?

Here are my parameters:
pH: 7.5
NH3/4: 0
NO2-: 0
N03-: 0
KH: 6 drops (API) 107ppm.

NOTE: yes, the nitrite test was done correctly, each bottle was shaken for 30 seconds, then added to waste sample and sat for 5 mins....the filter media that does this is called Nitra-Guard.

What can you tell from that?
 
Are you also seeing this white color if you take a sample from the tap (faucet)? Check the sample after 1 hour and again after 24 hours.

I don't think it is micro bubbles, at least from your description and given you have been set up in different locations.

Hi,

the water fromt he faucet is crystal clear, i left a glass out yeaterday, and it was clear within 5 mins.

Well heck, are you sure no one in the house is adding milk to the tanks? JK!

Since you have always been plagued with this whitish water, what else have you had in the tank regularly, such as decor, rocks, etc?

Have you tested the salinity of the water since you are adding salt regularly? Which salt product are you adding?

i am using standard pool salt.....

my decore is black rocks and white gravel!!

all of whitch are washed thoroughly
 
How do you remove the biomass from the tank with the Nitra-gaurd in?
 
When you do carbon dosing, which nitra-gaurd is, the bacteria create waste generally called biomass, you need to remove this, in marine tanks, where carbon dosing is generally used, the protein skimmer removes this.
In a fw tank you also need to remove this with filter floss.
When I used nitra-gaurd on my fw tank, I had the filter return flow through a wad of floss, and used a hob filter filled with floss only to remove the biomass. I replaced the floss twice per week. I had similar problems that you describe until I did the above.
 
I have no idea why your water has a white tint, but a few years back I had a group of tanks that had a white tint.
I believe it was because I was using a fluidized bed reactor with aragonite (fine coral sand) as a media, and my alkalinity always remained very high.

above is a photo of the reactor, and a small tank next to it, where you can see the white tint to the water. The white tint would become exaggerated when I added more media to the reactor as the aragonite became dissolved. Other fresh water tanks on a different filtration system, did not have the milky tint.

So you think if i add an otto filter stuffed with filter floss that would do the trick to remove the Biomass?
