fbf are inexpensive and are the best biofiltration. only problem is u need a tank of 100gallons and upwards and you need a heavy bioload. i use a 1200lph powerhead on mine even though they recomend (the company) that i use a 800 lph powerhead. that is to have the sand floating above the min sand level. i went with an otto. it was a pain in the ass to setup. but when i figured out how(after reading the instructions 50 times and calling the place i got it 10 times) it was easy to operate.
