Going to upgrade my light on my 45 gallon bowfront(36 inched long and 20 inches high). Going to plant my tank with more variety of plants like rotala when this pandemic is over. Wondering what’s the best light for my tank, I don’t want to pay over $100 since I’ll have to setup co2 too.

I am currently running 48in Finnex, Current USA, and a Fluval. I am running a 24in Finnex on a 29g. I have a 72in Beamswork on order. I scored all my 48in fixtures from a fellow shutting down his fish room. I don't see any appreciable difference between the brands with light output but I don't have a par meter either. I do prefer the Finnex because they have an on/off switch rather than a remote controller.
The Beamswork are pretty reasonably priced. The 72in I ordered was less than $100.

DwarfCichlidLvr DwarfCichlidLvr , yes, they are. I will post an updated pic of the 29g later, this one is from February.

Upper 55g is a Current USA, lower is a Fluval. 90g is a Finnex

This is a great light, customizable and many people recommended it to me. (great for plants)

Is your tank set up yet?
That was one of the lights I was looking at, but I don’t know if it would be bright enough to grow carpet plants with my tank height.
My tank has been setup for a couple of years. But now I want to densely plant it and rescape.

I’ve seen a few videos where people use flood lights and their tanks have good growth. Could flood lights be a good cheaper option too?

A friend of mine is growing a low light carpet with it and I plan to stat a carpet with it. I don't see there being an issue with growing one. She has a 26" high tank. Is your tank set up yet?
