my tank has no plants. i read 12 hours is alright for fish only tanks so id like to do 12 hours of light.. the only thing is that i like the tank on late, so i wanna do 12p - 12a. the thing is that the sun comes up early and lights the room up so in theory its actually getting 18 hours of lght. is this not good? the tanks got a marineland double bright led on it.

Get dark curtains for the room if you're worried about it. I run my lights on essentially the same schedule as you and my fish room gets lots of early morning sunshine. I've seen no ill effects on my fish.

Honestly you should be fine, I do the same thing (and I have a marineland doublebright) and have never had any issues with algae blooms. My fish have never seemed stressed about it either.
