light timer?

Hello!

my built in light timer on my fixture doesn't work but i can still turn the lights on and off, can I just plug the fixture into one of those cheap dial light timers?

Yes, that would work for sure. Instead of the timer on the light opening and closing the circuit it would be the dial timer. As long and you can keep the circuit closed (light on) on the light itself.
