It's Alfred Dunhill.

So I simply purchase standard butane from the local grocery store? It's the liquid kind right?

What kind of butane does Zippo use?

A Zippo uses liquid lighter fluid.
Butane comes in a little pressurized can and is injected into the bottom of the lighter (usually)

The butane i use is in cans similar to that

I'm feeling like such an idiot right now.

Why does that butane can have so many nozzles?

Which one of those nozzles do I use to project into the lighter for refill?

It'd be just great if I screw up the new lighter.... :(

Different brands use different adapter nozzles, just check to see which one fits. Some butane lighters still have flint igniters, I don't like the piezioelectric ones because when they wear out the thing is useless.
I had a zippo that got run over by a M113 armored personel carrier, it was not much thicker than the flint wheel and leaked fluid after that so I mailed it to Zippo with an explanation and they sent me a new one for free, even came with a coupon for fluid.

dunhill might have a warrenty on fluid use like colibri colibri lighters can only use colibri fuel or warrenty is void read the packaging and it will tell you colibri and zippo are the best lighters my best colibri lighters are the sst battery ignition and the lazer beam one

Butane is nice for lighters in high wind, my butane lighters have that blowtorch effect. I love my Zippo as well. Too bad I quit smoking.

Put your lighter on a flat surface, turn it upsidown, and firmly but gently press the butane into the lighter, and let it go for around 30 seconds, then try it again for another 30. You should be perfectly full.

With any lighter, be careful there is no extra fluid on your hands before you light up, or your hand will look like the olympic torch.

yeah, Dunhill does have that "only use Dunhill butane" or the warranties are void but I just thought maybe there really isn't much difference and they're just trying to make some more money.

that means I'll have to run all the way to 5th avenue just to buy the butane and I really don't feel like doing that.

I guess regular butane is just fine...

I got the Dunhill rollagas series.

Well, it's probably expensive as hell to buy "dunhill" butane and I would guess only the store on 5th avenue sells them.

I have a local cigar shop around here that I'll ask if they have something similar.

if i remember corectly when dolan boulac(sp?) and colibri merged so to say i think dunhill and colibri did too im not sure though the butane colibri uses is i guess the word is filtered and produces a cleaner burn you could probally use colibri fuel with no problem the name fuels are not that expensive and it is worth it in the long run if the igniton or something else fails those lighters are warrenty forever and they test the fuel first when you send it back
