lighting and hood question

ok sorry i think this is my last question for sure. would power head help if my tank is decently planted or will an ac 50 be fine on the 29 gallon tank? is i need a powerhead what size?

circulation i read somewhere that it is important to have good circulation so nutriants can flow through out the tank but dont know if that is true or not.

o and this maybe a dumb question but with lighting is it better to have no "lid" and have the lights be on the leg things or is it better to have a lid and set the light on the lid or is it just what ever floats your boat. didnt know if there is pros or cons to either

You could add a power head for more circulation if you want I don't think it would hurt anything. I am just unsure if you need one since I don't know exactly where/how your plants will be placed in the tank to obstruct water flow. Just use your discretion.

As for the light, you could put it on the legs but adding more distance from your light to the tank will lower the effectiveness of the light and amount of light that gets into the tank. Fortunately the plants you listed should be fine with low light so you should be able to do whatever you want.

Personally I have glass tops with the the lights sitting on them. Some of my fish tend to jump or splash and this helps keeps the lights from getting any water on them and also keeps the fish in if they get spooked for some reason.

thanks for all the help im going to go online right now and order all the lighting flourish and excel and see how it goes. ill post some pics once its all up and running
