Hey guys I have a 10ft 500 gallon tank that I am looking to upgrade the lighting on. I have had a diy light setup on it for the past year with 2 10 foot rain gutters with led programmable strip lights inside each gutter. It's been nice to be able to program different colors and play around with but for lighting up the tank powerfully I'm just not happy with it. Can anyone recommend a setup that that will really light up the tank well and can possible double as moonlight( although that's not my priority). The tank is 10 feet long by 3 feet wide by 26 inches deep. Thanks in advance for any insight on this

would love to see a pic of your tank, sounds epic!
You could use a much longer led strip and wrap it round a lenght of pvc pipe and install that inside your existing rain gutter set up and also line the inside of the gutter with something reflective to maximize the light out put....... Joey the "king of DIY" has a video od this on his you tube page, you should look it up

Also has a timer built in and moonlights! I have the 4ft version over my 150 gallon. The link above is for the 5 ft version so you could just run two to go the whole length of your tank. I've heard many people talk about them not being reliable but for the price, I think it's worth it. I haven't had a single issue with mine in the 2 months or so I've had it. Good luck!

I'm in the middle of setting 2 30w lights on a planted tank I will show you some pictures soon. That was what I was going to put over my 600g until I found out a buddy on here can get led lights for really cheap

Wow thanks for the reply I've never heard of flood lights on a tank before. Could you be more specific on the size of model or strength please. How many more a 10ft tank. And how would they be secured or would they just face down on top of the tank
I think if you did 4 center across the length of the tank would be good
