Ya man plenty bright. If you are unsure purchase one and see for yourself and if you don't like it send it back. Do you have a canopy? Send me a pic of your setup and I can tell you the best way in my opinion to set it up

I can send a pic in a bit when I'm home from work but it is 10x3x25in deep. I have 3 access holes on top. My question would be if the light had to shine through a non access hole area of 1/2" thick acrylic would that lessen the effect or brightness you think?
 
No not at all and led flood lights give off little to no heat so you can set it right on top of the tank and call it good. Maybe get a piece of 1x1 square tube and drill holes in it to bolt the lights to so you can lift it off in one assembly and not have to deal with them one at a time
