Hello im in the market for lighting for my two 48" long aquariums. I was looking at the Glo T5's and some others and i'm unsure on what to get. In your opinions what's the best lighting to go with. Brand, wattage, flourescent or other? Thanks

Standard T5s will be your best bet. LED is nice but too expensive, it will take a couple of years before you save enough electricity to offset the extra cost. If you don't have plants you don't need the extra wattage from high output T5s. On a fish only tank the lights are for you not the fish.

I agree with bbortko, another thing to take into consideration are the fish you have some don't like bright lights at all.

if not led's then I would go with a cheap one bulb fixture. fish do not need light. low wattage will allow you to run the lights for a longer period without algae problems. I run led's on my 120 gal. for 12 hours and one 54w t8 for 5 hours for my floating plants. I have no algae.
