Lighting for Aquariums

For freshwater without live plants, lights are only for your viewing pleasure.

I have my lights on for 10 minutes in the morning to feed them and 2-3 hours in the evening.

I used to leave the lights on for 12-14 hours a day, but it did cause an algae issue.
