Okay, so I have a GE fresh and saltwater bulb in my fixture. It shows off the fish better than the full spectrum bulb did. The FS light made them look washed out and grey. The fresh and saltwater light looks better, but is too bright for what I’m trying to accomplish. I’m trying to get light in the middle of the tank and shadowed edges. I painted the glass top under the light flat black. Just left the center 2 1/2” on each panel clear for the light to shine through. It helped, but still too bright imo.
I know that fronts are deeper water fish and want to have reduced light levels for a loose biotope look. I think I’m at the limit of my skill as far as this goes so I turn to you, my fellow MFK’ers. Any suggestions as to how to get my end result a little better? Photos before and after so far.
Reflection of window throwing it off a bit but sufficient I guess.
