Okay so the lights at Petsmart, Hagen, what is the best for a planted aquarium? The life-glo, flora-glo, power-glo, aqua-glo, or sun-glo. Let me know.

If you are under 40 gallons the flora grow is the best T8 bulb, however for all tanks a CF hood will be better. The intensity of the T8 bulb is just not enough. A HO T5 will do even better, and is often a cheaper fixture than the CF hoods.

its a 29g, double tube hood.

flora glo works just keep in mind 5w per gallon is the general rule to get proper growth..
5WPG is not necessarily the standard. It is too high for some plants, and too low for others. Low light is 1.5-3WPG, 3-4 is mid, 5-6 is high, and 6-7 is very high.

Also this rule does not apply to tall tanks, small tanks, or very large tanks.

so what would you guys recommend for the 29g? I have a life-glo and sun-glo on there right now? shoul di just get 2 flora glows?

Depends on what you are stocking. If you have low light plants, 2 flora glows will work. If you have anything outside of that, then you need to start looking at either power compacts, or HO T5 bulbs.

swords, corkscrew vasillara(sp), green acorus, hair grass, micro-sword, bacopa, and arrowhead.
