hi sam...
having seen your tank.... I woukd not go for T5. they r just too bright and make tigers goes unstable.
for your 6x2 .... just use a couple of 4ft T8 flouresent tubes. 30w each.
they will provide enough light.. yet not too much .

I think t5 go well when tank is 3ft deep.

You are correct in what you are saying! I purchased a T5 light before alot of these posts advised me not to, twin 54w incredibly bright and makes the Dat's very unstable and scared to come to the top for food, Since then I have reverted back to an old twin 36W T8 just with some new bulbs and they are much better! just hard finding something that shows of the colours of my peacock bass AND the dats
