Where are the best place to play two 48inch lights on a 72inch tank? should i just stager each? one in the front right and then back left? or just in the middle? Or should i just go out and find a 72inch light?

I don't have the lights let to play around with... I have one Strip t5 but its doesn't have a plug/something to hold it off the tank top... its 48 tho

Attach them to a 72" section of rain gutter with ends in a staggered configuration. Instant professional looking light hood...

i thought they were galvanized? Its just 12inch on each side... Does anyone thing thats a big deal? I can take an 8foot fixture and rip it down to 72 and get a bulb... The tank is for fish display only but i just have glass top with fake plants on top.

they make plastic rain gutters...I wasn't talking about metal. I've used it several times and it looks great. Going with non-standard size bulbs will always come back to haunt you. Whenever possible I use 48" 36" 24" bulbs. You get a better variaty of available bulbs at a much better price that way.
