Two 36" would probably be bright enough or the 48" housing is only 46" long not including the legs which add the extra 2" when pushed all the way in.

Also, I think that the 48"-60" one is actually 47.75" with the legs pushed all the way in. I know it's only 1/4" but that could be the difference between fitting or not if you're at exactly a 48" limit, ya know?
