Lighting Questions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
with anubias they will do good in low light. at least survive. there are plenty of other plants that do well in low light, like crypto's, hornwort, java moss, and others as well, but if you want to get other plants, thats when you need to spend the cash and get around 200 to 300 watts from a 6700k or flora bulb's.
also the different k promotes different type of growth in plants. since they have different colors coming from the lights. so all in all you can get away with what you have now, i would probably use less light now because the more light you have in your tank and all that fertilizer and minerals, and not many plants algae will a run a muck.

Yes well, As someone else on MFK said "You could grow anubias plants in a toilet bowl."

Agreed so dont be concerned with lighting or ferts. Now if you decided to add other plants, make sure you have what you need in place first. Add you some Java Ferns (attached to some wood or rock) and add maybe a water-sprite. ALL will do great with the lighting you already have in place.
