I have some lights that I would like to build reflectors for. One thing that came to mind was to use mirrors... would this work well for reflecting the light?

Also thought of using some sort of tin tape and just lining half-cut 4" PVC drainage pipe.

Or - does anyone know something else that is good to use / buy?

Thanks

Mirrors work well. The last nano hood i built I used a few mirrors from a local dollar tree store. They are 1/8'' thick so they can be cut easily and glued into the hood. Also you can use mirrored mylar. They use that for grow rooms and stuff that grow umm yea. But you can find it at any hydrophonics shop or ebay. Pretty much if you can see your reflection in it, you can use it.

mirrored mylar
Great idea..could swear i saw that as gift wrap..cheap, easy to cut and glue in place.

Gift wrap or those balloons that are sold at party supply stores. The balloons can be pricey but if you just need a couple it is not bad.

you can also use the aluminium paper for cover the food that goes to the oven
Aluminum foil is about as good as white paint for reflection. White paint is the most reflective color paint. Generally if you can not see your reflection in the product it won't be very good as a reflector for lighting. The foil would work better than nothing at all. But mylar or a mirror are about as good as a DIy can get.
