Hey everybody!
Been a while since I've been active on here but still in the hobby.

Bought my first home and moving next weekend.
In the process i will be picking up a 240 gallon 8 footer as I will havto take apart my 220 to move it out of the house I'm currently renting.
The tank will have all the same fish I currently have but being an 8 foot tank I'm unsure of what lights to use.
I will be growing pothos out the back of tank and will build a lattice wall for it to grow up as tank will be in basement and sitting infront/underneath of a large window. I have already purchased grow lights that will be secured under the top side of lattice wall for lighting in darker/ winter months but for the tank and fish themselves I want something to really show them off... I've never had a really nice light always cheaper Chinese made lights for planted tanks... the tank itself won't be planted... just the fish and then sand/gravel substrate...
Does anyone have suggestions for nicer lights to show off fish... prefer clip on back "pendulum " lights? (Unsure of what you call them) as I can't find light bar style 8 feet long.. was thinking 2 4 footers with that cool sunrise-sunset feature but that may not work as 2 separate units 🤷‍♂️

Whats everyone think?
Any help would be great , thanks!

The hygger advanced lights are good for the money.
They have the sunrise/sunset feature. They are adjustable and have timer options.
I bought 2 of these for my 7 foot tank and they light it really well.

Thanks for the reply... I've read they are nice lights and was thinking of those or the finnex lights... is it possible I can see a picture of said tank?

Ya wow what an upgrade to any light I've ever owned 😂. Looks great man really beautiful tank you've got there
Thanks .
Yes I was impressed with them for the price.
Much better than my old t8 fluorescents.
The 24/7 day cycle is nice ,starts with a low warm orange glow that increases to full spectrum and fades to a moon blue at the end of the cycle.

If you ever go planted look at the Finnex Planted Plus 24/7. I have 5ft long jungle vals due to it.

This is my tank after I just thinned a 1/3 of the vals

Haha ya I actually saw those pictures on one of your threads I think... I think the finnex and the hygger are very similar lights.. I just wasn't sure how well they light up the tank and fish...
I've had nice bright lights that grow all kinds of plants easily but they always seem to wash out the actual fish which drove me nuts, just makes the tank look ugly but it seems these lights actually look nice
