Hi I wanted to know if anyone has made a good cheap lighting system for their fish tank, because the lights being sold are so expensive.

i get t8 shop lights from wal mart. cost 15$ which saves plenty of room for the proper light bulbs needed
I made my stand, hood/lights/LED moon lights... Bought all materials from Lowes" and couldn't be happier... I use to have halides but got tired of the prices of bulbs that burn out in a few short months so I did some research ended up with a brilliant look 6500k lighting which is a cool/natural look "same as halide" and cost me $250 bucks for everything for the materials to build Stand and hood and all lighting...bulbs...fixtures....wires and switches depending on what your aquarium stock is and your handy you can do anything with the right skills and knowledge
