I came up with a question about lighting a freshwater tank. My redtails and other catfish are out growing their tanks so in the next year or so i will begin to build an indoor pond in the basement. My question was will i need a certain type of lighting for this or will basic fluorescent lighting be good enough for this project.

The lighting is more for you then it is for the fish. If I were doing an indoor pond, I would looking into pool lights underwater. That way you dont have that glare off the surface when you are looking at the fish.
