The northern snakehead in the pictures (Channa argus) gets to 34+"s, yes the perspective does make the fish look a little larger in comparison to the guy but what do you want him to do, hold it behind him?

Hiya turdburglar, welcome to MFK, the picture is several years old and is one of the ID shots from a database site called fishbase. The Amia calva, Bowfin does indeed have a superficial resemblence to a channa but are not related, they hold similar ecological niches as hardy, adaptable, predators and live in the same type of habitats.
