So i have a 75, it has a texas and tankmates, which i will soon be removing. Might have him and some FMs or something else thats smaller. I have decided Festae arent appropriate tankmates for this fish. Which should have been a major "DUH!" But... Well.

I am just curious- how aggressive are your Carpintis or Cyanos?

Mine attacked my arms during a waterchange and drew blood. He is maybe 6.5" long. Not even adult yet...

The pic shows what he did. Ow.

So yeah? How mean are your Texases? Or any fish, for that manner. Towards people i mean.

I just rehomed my largest texas, 5 inches, absolute terror. As far as people aggression, I'll say my big jag is the most I'll tempered. My big Oscar has left his mark on me, total of 5 decent scars now.

Wow. How big is he?

The reason im so shocked by my Tex's aggression is the fact that he is small. I mean, a 6 inch fish attacking the arm of a fully grown human? Really?

Its cool though. This kind of personality is the exact reason why i want these fish. My parents think that its odd though...

Its fun :)

All my Texas have been very docile with me. They get aggressive when they need to. I never ever seen any pick a fight but when they need to throw down they put a good fight.

Yeah thats how mine used to be. He has chased my finger around the glass before, but ever since the Festae he has gone wild. A week ago he would hide and turn pale if my hand was in the tank. Now i have to push him away every minute or so to avoid getting bit.

Do you think its the adittion of fish, or that he has gotten to a decent size? Or a combination?

He is also very well fed, so it isnt a food thing. 2-3 times a day with pellets, and supplements if i feel bothered to get them out.

Oddly though, it doesnt seem overly aggressive to other fish. More defensive than trying to take over. He isnt exactly nice though :p

My oscar, then one who has scarred me is a tough one to measure cause he's so active. My best estimate, 11-12" tip to tail. He's interactive and social when we're outside the tank, but as soon as flesh breaks the water, fish or human, he becomes a different creature lol.

Hmm, never had a true texas. I've had several green texas cichlids and none were aggressive towards me when cleaning the tank. Now to other fish, yes.

Mine (pic is my avatar) lives with a green terror, a big Midas and my Synspilum hybrid. They all live in fear of the Syn x.

Here's mine fighting with my large midas

Even thought the Midas is superior the Texas put up a good fight. This is when I introduced them the first time
