lima+black lancer

i dont want to lead you down the wrong path here, and hopefully someone with more experience with this fish can help, but i think youll be fine for a good while. Couple years maybe, and then of course if the cat gets to big, you could sell it for serious money.

BUt since im kinda seeing how long it takes for mine to reach adult length i dont have all the answers yet.

I wouldn't have thought that you would have had too many problems keeping a lanecr and a lima together - as for size of limas - I have never personally seen one of more than 18". Ideally you could do with a bit more width on the tank - but 18" would work fine for a while.

Limas are not particularly fast growing catfish - certainly not of the rate that a perruno, redtail, etc would grow at. It just depends how much you feed them of course.

As for the girraffe - nice fish - they do grow fairly quickly but one would be okay in your tank for a good 12 months plus - they do though get bigger than 2.5ft - although most that you see are less than 2ft in length and max out at around that size - bare in mind though that that is a fairly hefty fish - an 18" giraffe would be too big for your tank.

What else are you planning on mixing in there?

this is my duo together, the lima hovers over the giraffe like this all the time, they seem to have no compatability problems and seem to enjoy each others company

This is my Dynamic Duo! They definetly enjoy each other... In fact here is Mr. Green Cheeks talking to Mr. Giraffe asking him "Whacha doin?"

He really does ask that constantly... Drives us crazy!
