Lima shovel nose cat fish

I have a 10 inch one and it only eats live food or pellets my one inch cory cats eat. Cool fish!
 
Mine didnt eat really for the longest. Now he eats anything from blood worms to pellets. He gets very competitive when the bloodworms hit the water.

When I got mine it did not eat for 3 weeks. Now it eats pellets after I starved it for 3 week. It does not eat worms. :D
 
I got mine to eat worms and white market shrimp first. Try soaking Hikari Massivore Pellets with the shrimp in the shovelnose's own aquarium water. Depending on fish size , you may have to break up the pellets with a knife or razor blade , that way they won't crumble. You can also hide pellets inside of the frozen food it has already taken. They get the taste of the pellets somewhat that way also.
 
Mine will take the massivore pellets now. He went 2 weeks without eating before he ate them. I was worried, and crazy stubborn at this point, but he finally ate it.
