Lima Shovelnose Cat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my 3 have been growing slow and steady... going from 3" to 6-7 in a couple of months... but I recently learned that all of their tank mates at the LFS ALL DIED a few weeks back before being shipped out for a customer so I'm not sure if there is something wrong with these guys but they all seem normal and healthy.

Not exactly like their cousins and eat till they look like they will pop... just chill and eat to keep a nice round belly

I am considering one also.
Could a pair work in a 90g?
If not, are there any other smaller shovelnoses?

180g should be adequate for full grown adults. You would rarely see a lima reach a length greater than 18". But of course a larger tank is always better. My lima is approx 12"-13" currently in a 135g. Moving into a 210g by the end of the week.
