Lima versus elongatus ID thread

The smaller group of 8 in a 240 gal. I've been trying to catch them doing their predatory mode but it is not easy:

One of the smaller ones died in the 240 gal. IDK why. It has been happening with them once in 1-2 years it seems. About 12" final measure. No photos. So 7 left.

Also one of the bigger ones died in the 1800 gal. This is part of a more worrisome pattern as we have lost 4-5 of them since splitting them up a year or so ago and transferring the bigger ones to the 1800 gal. The pesky pathogen we have had since 2018 is one supposition, as these LSN seem to die the same way as other tank mates of theirs - tigs, trachy trachies, sun cats - erratic swimming, spinning and bumping, and loss of control.

100% WC in 30 days for the past 2-3 years also likely played the role. It has not been enough. In retrospect... but should have been obvious much earlier... This was corrected a month ago and we have gone back to a 100% WC in 3 days (60K gallons).

Only 3 of the bigger ones remain.

19", 7 years old. The snout had been fine until the last week - the fish broke the snout during the agony of the erratic swimming. I had to euthanize it.
