Wow its ahs been a long time since I have posted here. Well on to the question at hand. 4 to 5 weeks ago I swapped by 4 in JD for a smaler one who is a looker. Well anyways it is about 2 in maybe more but it seems to to be small enough to fit into the lima's mouth, but the lima seems to eat the pellets that I throw into the tank for the cichlids every time it's feeding time. So since it eats well, do you think the JD is fine?

no,not fine.We have three limas(14 inch,13 inch, and a 8 inch)They will eat anything that fits in there mouths. We learned that the hard way.

wow! your lima eats pellets? thats a good thing. Def. dont trust it with anything that can fit into its mouth. That mouth is alot bigger than you might think, especially when the lights go out!

if it seems to be nuff to fit in the limas mouth, it will..ironically i had the same issue last week, only my JD didnt look like it was able to fit in my Limas mouth, sure enough he got eaten..

Well then i'm in a conundrum because I want my JD because it has red on the anal fin and tail, so it might look great, but I also like my Lima because it takes pellets. I guess I'll leave my JD and see what will happen.

keep the lima man. its a rarity to see a shovelnose eat pellets. it'll save u plenty of money and effort for the future :)

yea im not trusting anything with something that can fit in its mouth im getting a lima or two this weekend and watiing for my cichla to get around 10 icnhes before i combine the two they would make for some expensive feeders

in some ways LSN cats might be similar to TSN, but I clearly think they are less aggressive. plus they dont get as big.
