Good idea, grow him out then add him back in. How big are your other fish you have listed? I just picked up my first lima as well. He is around six inches. He is in a 120 with various cichlids that are all five inches plus. I put feeders in the tank last night, well, my 10 year old and 3 year old son's actually put them in. We thought we were watching Planet Earth on Discovery, alot of fun and educational.
you guys should try feeding your limas krill or shrimp. Mine never get feeders. They will also take floating cichlid pellets. My big one will eat like 5 large shrimp. That one is 14.5".
Do you buy shrimp at the grocery store, feed raw, shell and all? I saw that Tetra makes a big tub of whole shrimp? My lima eats anything, pellets, flakes, granules, feeders, you name it I must say it's fav is frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp!
