Thanks. I try to answer your comments
Kev, my dealer told me that these cats get to know the tank dimensions and avoid bouncing. So compared with TSN, which normally get excited and excape without stopping the lince cats were much more compatible to smaller tanks. I didn't face a problem with my lince cat in this regard.
It works very well with the mata. Both are not aggressiv and they ignore each other. Also the smaller turtle has never been bothered by the lince cat. Do you have certain questions about matas. Please let me know.
The smaller turtle is Emydura subglubosa. It was very funny to see that the Emydura picked the loose tissue pieces from mata like the cleaner fish from saltwater reefs. And the mata likes it. She stretched her legs to allow the emydura to get closer. I will post some pics in a separate thread.
I owned the lince for 4 years. It growed only 1 or 2" in this time in my tank. So it was not a size issue to sell the lince cat. The lince is hungry any time. It eats pellets, cichlid sticks, dead feeders, fish fillet, shrimps. I had to provide a lot of food into the tank to make sure that the other tankmates will get enough. The mata and the vaillantii, the gars are slow eaters and sometimes the lince seems to be overloaded by food and the others are still have a slender body. Also the lince is in action all the time and after this long time a want to have a more calm scenario in my tank. I traded the lince cat off for the large alexandri. Later on two other alexandri came in. Then I had the calm scenario that I want.
My previous lince cat is now in a 4000gal tank. It growed up there to approx. 26". The new owner has a second lince cat it this tank. Both like to swim around together most the time. It looks awesome. I wound therefore recommend to keep lince cats in groups.
