Just out of intrest how much do they want for the lince

I know what they look like in the flesh as I have had mine for 1 year now

I was thinking of buying another one to get some mad shoal going on

That's very very expencive as I paid £270 for mine and maidenhead ST ALburns had one for £500

I can only think that they had a few ordered and some were dead on arrival and they have had to make the money back by kicking up the price

I have been told that they have a very high death rate on import 50% in some cases due to the size as I have never seen one imported less than 12inch this is what makes them so rare

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone with a tank smaller than 8x6 as that's what's mines in it's about 20inch now so only half size and looks like it could do with a bigger tank soon

When I got mine I was told they grow slow that's rubbish as I got mine at 15 inch so it's grown 5 inch in one year

Another thing I would say is if your tank is in a living room or a place were you look at the tank don't get one my tank is in the garden so I don't need to look at it all day if you had to look at this fish all day even thou it's a great fish to look at it would make you dizzy as no matter how hard you try to look at other fish in the tank your eyes are drawn to the lince

Great fish but just a few things to consider

Wonderful cat, but I agree that it looks thin, for whatever the reason.

When imported they come in with loaded with parasites it took me ages to get mine clean

The one in the shop looks like it has some kind of worm mine eats well but that one looks like it's feeding something else apart from it's self

Not a easy fish to isolate as you need to treat it in a 7x3 to give it plenty of room

I was lucky when I got mine as I had moved all my fish out of my 350 gal to the 1000 gal so the 350 gal was empty

I will get some more pics later if you want

It's 8x6x3 with a 6x2x2 sump with 24-7 water change

Fantastic !!!!
Surely those aren't the tiny little Leo's you had ....my how they have grown huge !!!!

but where are your Super red's and Crossbacks ? There is only one Crossback in the video but none in the pics ?

How long have you kep the Lince, what are your experiences with growth rate, appetite, demeanor..etc. Its a beautiful tank btw, love the P14's.

I sold all the aros and am just left with the one 26 inch chilli red

The rays in the pics the 2 x females the one with the hand are both my home bred baby's the largest female is about 16-18 inch disk

Even the tig in the picture I have had for 4-5 years and it's about 24 inch

The big Siamese tiger fish I have had for 7 years since 2 inch and that is now 20 inch

Back to the lince

When people say they grow slow that's rubbish and they must grow slow for them as they have kept them in small tanks and stunted them
Like I said I have had the lince for 1 year now and for 1 month it didn't eat a thing and with in one year in the right size tank it has grown from 15 inch to 20 inch now that's fast in my eyes

I'm not telling people not to buy a lince as they are as great as they look BUT they grow fast and need a massive tank

If the lince was like other cats that don't move that much then you would get away with a tank have the size that other 40 inch cats need

I also made a mistake on prices in my other posts the lince in the thread at the start I very very over priced at £500 like I said I got mine ordered in for £270 and that was a Maidenhead shop and Maidenhead ST Alburns had one for £350 and wildwood had 1 for £400
