Oh my that cat is .. no words besides absolutly beautiful! Id love to have one in our tank! but that i think would have to wait till the 600gal was built. but... how quick do they grow?
 
I have one in my pond....however, cuz the pond walls are black...it reflects that colour! haha. Brilliant fish that is always on the move.

Sore one advertised recently but just didnt have any spare cash availabe & was concerned how it would fit in with my current babies.
 
I don't think they are Poklei. I looked the best i could and didn't find anything that said they were. I actually read several sites reporting that they were imported and sold at their LFS.
 
No, they are not protected if one means CITES. Perhaps, locally, somewhere they are. They are available in the trade. AFAIK, no permits are needed in the US.
