Lionfish Communtiy Tank..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Those are wonderful looking fish! I had a buddy that kept "turkey fish" (i guess it's some sort of dwarf lion fish) and he loved em'! I love to watch them swim, so elegant!

look great together

Hehe.. You're going to yell at me.. But that tank is only a 60gallon. I figured I would get more effeciency from my live-rock by downgrading my 90 to a 60. This way I wouldn't keep having to drop $40/paycheck on LiveRock and I could be done with it. It's worked perfectly. They are the only fish in there. There is no aggresion. The only problem I have heard with intermixing species is they might try to cross breed, but that is in a much larger tank.

Alot of people believe Lionfish need huge tanks, but that's only due to the heavy bio-load. If you feed them properly and keep good tank maintenence, you should be fine. These fish require almost no 'swimming space' like various Tangs and Angels. Infact there are no swimming spaces, just Liverock with a few caves.
