ok i got a new red volitan lionfish

That's not a Red Volitan.... That's a Russel's Lionfish, consider yourself lucky to get yours eating mine refused to eat and eventually succumbed to starvation.

Russel's and Red Volitan are the same...

so this is a russells lionfish? i just picked one of these guys up. it was marked up as a volitan. its feeding after being in the tank about 48hrs on frozen brine. its less than 2" long. mine is really yellow in the fins though... a really pretty fish. pics taken with my phone... batteries are dead in the camera, they where new yesterday. the thing eats batteries.

to the op sorry for the thread hijack... but i have info. lionfish normally do this. i have a fuzzy dwarf that likes to choose a new stupid position everyday. even the volitans and dwarf at the museum in liverpool sit in rediculous positions. my new lion is the same.
