Liosomadoras oncinus (jaguar cat)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just another reason to believe they have been adopted when young by iridescent sharks. They remember mommy and daddy to be 2'+ and set their goals appropriately. If not in length, then at least in circumference.

Lmaoooo.

All I know is I'm not touching a thing in this tank. No new decor or tankmates. Do not want the jags to go into hiding that would seriously suck

Both jags have big appetites but this one is just disgusting. Literally eats more than any fish in the tank including the vulture and larger Polys.

I'm up to skipping 2 days between feedings and still not helping.

That’s one plump jag cat. Wouldn’t expect it to out compete the other fish for food.

Me either. I'll try and get a good feeding vid.

Lol throw in pieces to big for her that's the best I can say. It'll slow her down. My jag used to do the same when I had it in the 30b with smaller bichirs, I had to over feed basically

That's starting to look like suicide by feed.

It makes me wonder what woodcat or jaguar catfish experts could say about this. Is this phenomenon known? If so, what does it mean? Would it harm them?

Have not seen Kolt in a long, long time on here but he might know something koltsixx koltsixx being a long term jag keeper, IIRC.

If it was me, I'd post on Planet Catfish and hope to get attention of guys like Marc van Arc and other high level woodcatfish aficionados.

I will do and also hope kolt pops in.

I too am concerned long term. Skipping two days between feedings doesn't seem to help. If I knew the little bufonius would be ok I'd put the jag in with him just to digest and fast for a bit

Has the belly gone down since the 6/18 or is this another feeding day? I assume belly shrunk and another feeding.

Another feeding day. They don't digest incredibly fast though.
