I had a Zalio before and infact mine was a brilliant fish I loved it but unfortunately I lost it because he always got excited when feeding time came and he wacked his face on a sharp heater clip and got pop eye due to the trauma and I couldn't help him and he was getting worse even with medication and every other day 25% water changes. I miss him and hopefully I can find another one. I got mine from Rapps for $35 at 8 inches.

Sorry to hear that Cross. The zaliosum is by far the favorite fish that I own. I got lucky and found it at a fish store in Seattle. The poor little guy was in a tank with a much bigger vieja and a female dovii. I saw it and made the decision to buy it right away. He/she is about six inches right now and is still growing pretty fast, and holds its own in a tank with larger cichlids. It is definately very aggressive for its size.
