hello anne, are those (second set) nostrils the holes almost under the eyes? i noticed a while back that my albino does have a lot of "holes" on its head. ckecked the other bichirs and all of them appeared to have these holes under the eyes, near the gills, etc.
i also suspect they use these holes for balance or something... is that right?

yeah mines got a bunch of holes to, i thought that that was what they took air through.

I want to up my tank to about 150-200 gallons add two dels maybe a syno and a few more peacocks or electric blues. It will be a divided tank though so we'll see when I get it if there's still floor space...

I've got a 3 Ornates, 8", 11", and 13". The 8" is the yellowish one. One pair of 10" Sens and a pair of 7" sens. 2 5" albiono sens and a brand new 3" delhezi in a separate little chamber. I've kept Tiger Shovelnose and a Clown Knife. Currently I have a fire eel housed with them. I'll add I have yet to see a polypterus die. Best fish ever!
