I have them in a 240 gallon right now and they are about 12". I bought them when they were babies and have raised them to this size in a 70 gallon tank and that was over one year. If you manage your feeding rate, you can have these behemouths for a long time in 240 gallon tank. Most people overfeed their fish for the enjoyment of watching them engulf food down. It actually is healthy for fish to go through periods of fasting as this is a natural occurance in the wild.
