i was distrought for a while over what cat to get. i picked the caracal cause i thought it suited my personality better. my g/f wants a serval. so i may end up with both kittys anyway. as for wieght 40 pounds sounds about right for a female. males can get up to 50 i have even heard of some going over 60... thats a big cat. my dream cat would have to be a puma though. something about a 300 pound cat that can still puur.. thats a bad mo fo.guppy said:About the same price for my dream cat, the serval, caracals max out at around 40 lbs but 35 is more common. servals are usually a few pounds lighter.
In the UK you will need to check the current listings under the Dangerous Wild Animals Act of 1976 as it changes from time to time.
Yup, same thing with servals. In my gallery you can see two different "localities" of serval. I forgot ones name but I know the lighter one is a northern (egyption).guppy said:I don't know about the domestic bred ones but I was just reading that there are several subpecies of caracal and that the northern ones tend to be larger.
