They are springtails and are completely harmless.

Thats it... here is a link. It looks like the 2nd

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Springtail

So is wiping them down the best way to get rid of them?

Is there a fish that might be able to help me eat them from the Sump? Maybe Freshwater Clam??

Did anyone read the "Relationship with Humans" part of that Wiki article? It sounds very, very strange!

"Claims of persistent human skin infection by springtails may indicate a neurological problem, or else delusory parasitosis, a psychological rather than entomological problem. Researchers themselves may be subject to psychological phenomena. For example, a publication in 2004 claiming that springtails had been found in skin samples was later determined to be a case of pareidolia; that is, no springtail specimens were actually recovered, but the researchers had digitally enhanced photos of sample debris to create images resembling small arthropod heads, which they then claimed to be springtail remnants[20]."

Weird.

wow, that sucks. I think with all the people on MFK that have or dont know they have it, it would be a Pinned Article. But thats just my opinion. Hope it dont get anyone sick tho

No, it's not saying that it makes people sick. It's saying that when people that have a neurological condition where they think bugs are under their skin, they often blame this type of bugs. The people need psychological help, but show up at a dermatologist because they think they have springtails under their skin. The doctors who were studying them were suffering from a different type of neurological condition, whereby their study led them to see things that weren't actually there, and so they essentially "made up" evidence, because they believed it was real. I just meant there's a lot of strange phenomena associated with this bug...
