Hi let me start out in saying im new the the forum and relativly new to fish keeping. but i have 2 tanks a 55 with a 5-6" pacu a 1-2" pacu a gourmi tinfoil pleco and 2 pictus catfish. i know the pacu will outgrow the tank and recently i found what i was told was a 260 at a lfs, the side was busted and i figured hey ill just replace it, well i can get the glass from a site called glasscages.com luckly they ship locally. any pointers on repairing a tank this big i only paid 135 for the tank. also i have a 10g with 3 1-2" piranahs they will go in the 55 when the rest go in the bigger tank. i really would love to get some rays can the go in a 55 while there small what would envovle ive been doing some research and would just like some advise im getting ready for work now but ill show some pictures of what i have now so you guys can see.

I think the minimum tank for a pacu is something like 300g for a single pacu. If you are going to have all the other fish in there with it you will be overcrowded. Repairing the tank can be handled by removing the broken piece of glass and cleaning ALL silicone residue and then resealing. Or you could opt to just put the new piece of glass inside the tank and sealing it in. The best option would be to remove the broken piece and then reseal. I've never had to do this so I don't know how difficult it will be with a tank of this size. I know we have some info in the DIY forum. I'll let the ray owners comment on your ray question.

just some advice but your P's will outgrow the 55 eventually (although with only 3 it could very easily be down to just one before that happens), and the pacu will prly outgrow the 260 as well (what is the 260's dimensions?) i'd try to rehome the pacu and put the piranahs or rays in the 260.
but i wouldn't put the rays in your 55 unless you are pretty rigorous with your water changes and get rid of the other tankmates. although a 260 would be a pretty sweet ray set-up (again pending tank dimensions)

well i wouldn't be puting the ray with any thing but him i don't even know what kind i would get, and would the piranahs attach each other??

the rays and pacus and pretty much those other fish will all outgrow that tank VERY quickly. You're overstepping your capabilities right now. Take a step back and look around more and learn before keeping these fish. If you can, return those pacu ASAP

Otherwise, the Ps will attack each other unless kept in groups of at least 5

ok so a 260 itsn't big enough?? and i picking up another 55 this weekend not sure for what yet but im getting it very cheap

For quite a while a 260 will suffice, but Pacus can potentially reach 26" and are a very active fish. Slowly upgrade afterwards, When in a 350+ gallon tank, 2 pacus can have tankmates

ok i plan on getting a bigger tank anyway later down the road, i mean it will be at least a year or 2 ?? and what about the rays what would be the smallest tank?? and if i did do a 55 about how fast do they grow i mean would a 55 surfice till i upgrade the pacu tank??

No clue 'bout the rays, but pacus should be fine in the 260 for a couple years, correct me if i'm wrong.

TAKE NOTE: If pacus get spooked, MASSIVE damage can be caused to a tank, some reinforcement is reccomended in the 260. Same goes for Giant gouramis, though you might have a different variety.
