Just got one around the same size as well, what are you feeding ?

So far pretty much bloodworms. I used to feed some brine shrimp as well. I've introduced little pieces of krill, no luck with that yet. I may try a small red wriggler soon. The growth rate seems slower then it should

My ornate seems to really like bits of frozen/thawed tilapia, with the occasional chunk of beef heart. He's doubled in size in the last month, so maybe that'll give the growth you're looking for?

Moved him to the big boy tank today for a trial run. So far so good

Update...The ornate is growing nicely. Very active, but the curu leaves him be.
