that sucks=[ poor little guy[i think guy]
that's a kool fact o.O!
does that mean ammnoia would not affect em?

Crayfish respond to noxious stimuli, so anything that's dangerous (chemical or otherwise can still hurt/kill them). And they're very much aware that something is wrong in the water. You can see them start to act frantically and try to escape when there's too much ammonia or you're pH is too high/too low and so forth.

There's also conflicting studies on whether they can actually feel pain or not. So, I wouldn't rely on that too much one way or the other. I mean, for all intensive purposes decapods just respond to noxious stimuli but there have been some studies that have shown certain species of shrimps and lobsters to "appear" to respond to pain. No definitive answer but it's something to keep in mind I suppose. *shrugs* Who knows for right now.

Yup, do they have a nervious system? because if they do i'm pretty sure they would feel it. Also, i notice sometimes a cray will sneak up on their brother and just barley touch them and the other guy will freak out. If they didin't feel something what just happened...

All decapods have a nervous system, it's just not as evolved/complicated/etc as say a higher vertebrate's nervous system. In crayfish, it's just a ventral nerve cord with segmental ganglia.

So generally the argument becomes "can they feel pain? and if so do they feel it as we feel it?" and so forth. People would also generally take your statement and turn it into "areas of the nervous system respond to stimuli and cause escape reactions to occur. this does not necessarily suggest higher awareness/consciousness which is necessary to perceive pain, but merely a response to a potentially noxious stimuli". So it becomes a big argument of yes they can feel and respond but do they feel like we do and are they aware enough to actually be able to perceive pain. It gets really annoying and convoluted when you start reading the studies from both sides of the argument. Generally, I just take the "just in case they can..." side of things and go from there. Better safe than sorry, you know?

One more thing
My cray has a black eye and redish one
is that bad?..

I've seen odd coloration occur in cray's eyes. But try to get a more clear picture so we can all get a better look at it to assess it.

Better to take pix at night, clean the glass, turn on the flash. Works like a charm :D
