little sperm looking parasites in my tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they could be sea-men

lol... but any how if its not affecting your fish they may be hydra get some gouramis .. and do water changes.

DUDE! i had the same problem a few years back.
i think i had the same parasite thingy as you.
do they look like white mites? and move around by swimming and crawling?
i remember i found these things when i noticed uneated pieces of raw shrimp moving in my tank, and i found out that there were thousands of these small white mites or lice looking things decomposing the shrimp.

yea, they do look like mites. how are they harmful?? how did you get rid of them?? i havnt done water change yet, my barrel needs cleaning first

If its a food related issue, then try doing 2 30% water change, spread over 2 days and dont feed the fish for about 3-4 days... the fish will be fine, they can stay without eating for 6 days or more without causing them any harm ..

definately not ich..

planaria, parasites which are always in your tank, they live in the substrate but thrive and come out like have done in your tank when there is too much rotting food (in other words your overfeeding because not all the food is being eaten)

they are harmless to your fish and you but are a pain.

you can be rid of these by doing a few water changes and cutting down on the feeding. i had them once and they are easy to be rid of just cut down on the feeding a bit and if you feed to much remove the excess food.

they will be gone in no time.
