GOT EM!!

Used a breeding net, wrapped in pantyhose. Made a small hole and put some food in it. Then I used christmas light suction cup holders to secure it. Easy peasy..Now I need to fish out my sally lightfoot....:irked:

Nice catch! ....I have a damsel I need to get out of my reef tank and I think I might put something together thats similar to what you did there. How long did you have to wait before they went in there??

GL with the sally lightfoot. I was able to trap and remove a gorilla crab using just a long drinking glass and some squid...

I had to turn the lights out in the tank to get it to come out though.

lol, I remember seeing that thread and thinking, "I never would have thought of that in a million years......" It only took a few hours for the percs to go in. They didn't go in it until the lights went off. For my sally, I'm going to actually fish her out. I was almost successful last time I tried it, but I didn't tie on the food well enough.

Basically, I get some fishing line, tie food to it and dangle it in the tank for a bit. She comes right out when she sees it and literally jumps onto it. I just pull her up and out. I got her halfway up last time before the food came off and she bolted with it. This time will be different. I would do it your way, but after the first try, I told myself I would be successful it fishing for it. I'll try and get a vid if I can.

edit/ good job on the tank, so far, by the way. It's lookin good. Get some corals in that thing! You have a few nice pieces already. I went with the more common corals for this one. My next tank, I think I will go for an Australian tank.

Thanks! Your tank is looking great as well...love the blastos and zoas. I've been getting most of my corals off of craigslist from people looking to make more room in their tanks or just make a few bucks to pay for the hobby. It seems like craigslist is the best place to get good deals in this area. I wish I could find some zoas that are as cool looking as the ones you have, I just haven't run into any yet. Where did you get yours from?

Looking forward to the crab catching vid if you manage to get it.

There's a saltwater shop on ever corner where I live. You can pretty much get anything you want in Florida.;)

Anybody have an ID on this? I just took it out of my tank. It does not appear to be friendly..

looks like some sorta star polyp-eating nudibranch. definitely not a good thing to have in a tank.

Yeah, I think you're right. It must be some type of nudibranch. I'm searching and I can't find any that look like this one. I'll keep looking.
