Little white bugs / worms on glass

Duanes, thank you. My pictures are garbage I posted but they look very similar to planaria when I researched them. I'll continue the vigorous cleanings for now and the deworming treatment once the fry are hatched and free swimming. If I suspect anything else I will certainly treat immediately. What is treatment for leaches if that is the case?
 
Do you guys have any products you recommend that has fenbendazole in it and is fairly inexpensive? Also, can I get a tablet and just crush it and dissolve it or is there a liquid I need to use? I just purchased a 55g about a week ago for dirt cheap as a grow out tank.... and yup it's got planaria in it too. Not having much luck. It has a sand bottom in it and has 50% cycled water (no planaria in the aquarium) and 50% new water and I haven't put a bite of any food in it. Good news is that the 120g I posted this originally about is nearly clear of them. But since I'm going to finally buy a product figure I might as well treat both. Thanks
 
If you do treat and nuke them, be aware that the mass die off will likely cause an ammonia spike as they all begin to decay simultaneously. If you are already at the limits of your biological filtering capacity, this could present an issue.

Be ready for that
 
I keep enough mechanical filteration (hob and canister) to turn the water over 10x per hour and I keep a sponge and air line on all tanks. I should be alright with some dead little worms =]

Biological is what you're after here. But if you have 10x you'll be fine :)
 
Thank you. Any clue on a good dewormer that isnt going to break the bank? I've got a couple hundred umbee fry I was going to put some in the 55 and see how they do for clearing them out
 
I'd definitely try the fry first.

SafeGuard dewormer for dogs is 22.2% fenbendazole which will kill flatworms. Any $5-10 canine dewormer with ~22% fenbendazole will work.

Be careful not to overdose ... you only need 100-200 mg of SafeGuard per 10 gallons. You can pulverize the pill and/or mix it in a water jug. Then add enough water to get the amount of SafeGuard needed for your tank size.

I'd start with 100 mg/10 GL then add another 100 mg/10 GL the second day. Wait a few days to see what happens.
 
I've never found chemical treatments necessary for planaria or detritus worms. With reduced feeding and increased cleaning they always improve with time.
 
I have noticed the numbers in my 120g have gone way down from the initial outburst of them. I'll continue with the frequent gravel vacs and 50% wc's twice a week. And I'll add some of the umbee fry to the 55g and see how they do in there. I don't want to medicate the tank unless need be so I'll hold off since these guys are more of an eye sore than anything else really. Thank you everyone for your input
