If I started a pet shop, which I will someday - I think I would name it "Littlest Pet Shop."

I would start out carrying Freshwater Fishes...and so I started out categorizing what I would carry.

I would really like some suggestions - and if you could provide certain species under the categories I provided, or if there is a dealer that already has a full list of things he carries - I guess I just really need to be shed some light on this whole pet shop business!

For Example:
Who does the pet store buy their fish from???
Do You know any good retailers???
How do they set up and run ALL of those tanks! What sort of system would you need to have???
I would really like to see what some other dealers have as in what size tanks they keep their fish in and how many tanks they have ....
What would I price the fish at??

I think the best way to answer my questions is too look at retailers' stocks and ask the questions to the experts.

Do You know any good retailers??? you mean wholesale??
How do they set up and run ALL of those tanks! What sort of system would you need to have??? few large tanks on central systems and rest on sponge filters
I would really like to see what some other dealers have as in what size tanks they keep their fish in and how many tanks they have ....this depends on how much space you have usually 15 gallons through 75
What would I price the fish at?? 3x what they cost you is standard

Something I have wanted to know is how do lfs cycle their aquariums? Time is money, so I have doubts that most lfs wait 4 to 6 weeks to cycle the normal way.

L F S = Local Fish Store. It's used by a lot of the people on Monster Fish Keepers. I'm not sure if other fish forums use it
