I would like to buy or trade some live and/or base rock for my 210g salt water aquarium. If you would like or have a need for red lava rock, gray moon rock, or white gravel we could either trade or you could purchase it from me. I have about 200 pounds of rock and about 200 pounds of gravel. You see my 210 gallon aquarium was used for African cichlids and I am going to now use it for salt water FOWLR. If you don't have any, please let me know where I can get it at a reasonable (cheap) price.

i hear dr foster's/smith is pretty cheap.

Does anyone know where I can get some live and/or base rock for my 210g salt water aquarium reasonable (cheap) prices? In the New York area or willing to ship the rock to the New York area. I have found some live rock for between $6-$10 at local fish stores, but I need about 225 pounds and at those rates it's not going to happen. I have checked Dr. Forster/Smith and yes he is very reasonable, but I have two problems I need to have the rock in by Wednesday and the other problem is that the shipping cost boost boost up the price to about the same, if not more.

I also have a lot of red lava rock, gray moon rock, and white gravel that we could either trade or you could purchase it from me. I have about 200 pounds of rock and about 200 pounds of gravel. You see, my 210 gallon aquarium was used for African cichlids and I am going to now use it for salt water FOWLR.

Please help me out, it would be greatly appreciated

Just give up!! Your annoying posting that in every thread. Im not even American and i have already worked out $6 a pound is good so stop asking. If you cant afford it dont do it.
As was already said use base rock with abit of live to help with prices. Didnt anyone ever tell you SW setups where expensive.

There is no such thing as cheap live rock. Try ebay you might find some there but the shipping is going to get you. I got mine from a LFS that was taking down their SW tank and paid about $4 a pound. Use base rock and put some live rock with it the algae will grow onto the base rock over time. Setting up saltwater is very $$$$$$ so expect to pay to make it look good from the start.

I apologize

I just purchased 50 pounds at a local fish store. You guys are right! I decided to stop trying to get it so cheap and realized it wasn't going to happen. I guess I got a good price@ six dollars for cured rock with a great deal of growth. Once again I apologize if I annoyed anyone.

I am selling live rock for $5 a lb. If you or anyone is interested just hit me up.

that's great, where are you located? I just purchased a whole bunch of beautiful live Fiji rock from FishFinder's store in Bayshore Long Island. Truly excellent quality rock, but you can never have too much rock. Am I right?
