I really dont know if i want to do this but my Oscar is about 3inch now and feeding great but i know that people feed their Oscars on live food ( fish ) , but how old/ big does the Oscar have to be before i could start feeding him live foods like fish ?

I know some live foods like fish can be bad for fish to eat has they can carry parasites but out of intrest i would like to know, please .

you can feed them live, as long as the live food can fit in the O's mouth.

They don't need it and will be better off without it unless you breed your own.

Ok thanks , lie i sai i dont think ill do it , ijust wonded ho big they are when people start .

As long as he can swallow them its fine.Just be sure to qt them a month minimum or breed them yourself.

Live nightcrawlers are safe.

Yeah. Nightcrawlers, meal worms, crayfish, krill, prawns, bits of fruits and vegetables...are all pretty good "snacks" for your Oscar. Stay away from feeders unless you quarantine them for a month first, or breed them yourself.

Pellets are all your O should ever need though.

He would be capable of taking them now. Just be sure to purchase them through a trusted source.

I whole heartedly disagree with that statement.
