what is a good live food for a bgk?

Mainly worm and small shrimp. Depending on the size, you may be able to get away with small feeder fish like Minnows and Guppies, but I would avoid Goldfish as they might be too "bulky" When my BGK was at 7" it was in a community tank with Tetras as small at 1.5" and they were perfectly fine.

mine loves earthworms. it's about 14" and eats pellet food and dried shrimp as a staple. i never tried any other live foods.

mine has a favorite food, bloodworms. they make her go bonkers. I cannot find them live though, so i did some reading and found that they eat river shrimps. She has eaten small frozen crayfish (crawfish where I come from). She ate them but I thought that the shell seemed a little hard. Would they go for live ghost shrimp?

always fed live black worms to smaller fish, includeing knives. My aba aba knife still loves to hunt for black worms in the substrate.

i can't ever find anything besides ghost shrimp but I don't know if they would go for them

dang takin' out 2" ghost shrimp????:WHOA::shocked::OMG: That fish must really love his shrimp.

he must go through a growth spurt each time he has them huh?
